General Manager – Operations & Growth

Perth – Based | WA-Wide Operations

$300,000 – $350,000 (DOE)

Core Talent is partnering with an established and growing Western Australienn business to recruit an experienced General Manager – Operations & Growth.

This is a rare opportunity to join a successful organisation at a pivotal stage of growth and take ownership of operational leadership, business performance and long‑term strategic initiatives. Working closely with the business owners and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the organisation while driving accountability, operational excellence and sustainable growth.

About the Role

As General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the day‑to‑day operations of the business while identifying opportunities to improve performance, grow market presence and strengthen organisational capability.

Key responsibilities

Driving operational excellence across the business
Leading business development and growth initiatives
Developing and implementing systems, processes and organisational structure
Supporting succession planning and long‑term business strategy
Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and key stakeholders
Leading, mentoring and developing managers and operational teams
Driving accountability and performance across all levels of the business
Overseeing commercial, contractual and legal matters
Identifying opportunities for asset acquisition and business investment
Supporting workforce planning and leadership development
Improving business efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives
Contributing to strategic decision‑making and future growth planning

About You

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

Experience in a General Manager, Operations Manager, COO or similar senior leadership role
Strong commercial and operational management capability
Proven success in business growth and development
Experience implementing systems, processes and organisational improvements
Strong leadership skills with the ability to build high‑performing teams
The confidence to hold people accountable while maintaining a positive culture
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strategic thinking combined with a practical, hands‑on approach
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
Experience operating within construction, contracting, infrastructure, industrial services, mining services or related industries will be highly regarded
