What is the role?

We are searching for a Sales Manager – Modernisation in our Brisbane office. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you will lead and develop our Modernisation sales team while driving growth in the existing building and asset upgrade market.

This strategic leadership role focuses on people and business growth. You will coach a team of Technical Sales Consultants, strengthen relationships with key customers and identify future market opportunities. With Queensland entering a significant period of infrastructure investment and urban development, including projects linked to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this role is instrumental in expanding Schindler’s modernisation portfolio.

Key accountabilities
  • Develop and execute the Modernisation sales strategy to achieve business targets.
  • Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing sales team.
  • Identify upcoming refurbishment, upgrade and replacement opportunities across existing buildings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, facility managers and building owners.
  • Drive sales pipeline performance, forecasting and business growth.
  • Monitor market trends and Position Schindler for long‑term growth opportunities.
  • Maintain operational discipline through accurate forecasting, CRM management, quotation governance and cross‑functional collaboration.

The successful candidate will be a commercially driven leader with a proven track record of delivering growth, developing teams and building strong customer partnerships within the lift, construction, building services or related industries.

Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma qualification in Business, Engineering, Building, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ sales experience within the lift industry or a related construction or building services environment.
  • Proven sales leadership experience with a strong track record of coaching and developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills, building trusted partnerships across consultants, developers, builders and key accounts.
  • Commercial acumen managing pricing, margins, contracts and profitability.
  • Strong sales pipeline, forecasting and opportunity management capability.
  • Sound technical understanding of complex products and customer requirements.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, quotation tools, Excel and sales reporting platforms.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Engineering, Finance and Procurement.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Current driver’s licence.
Preferred
  • Experience in the lift, construction or building services industries.
  • Consultative selling and strategic account management experience.
  • Knowledge of NCC, accessibility requirements and relevant Australienn Standards.
  • Experience using data and analytics to improve sales performance.
  • Process improvement, change management and digital transformation experience.
  • Established networks across developers, builders, consultants and industry stakeholders.
