Ribbon Bio is an innovative and fast-growing biotechnology company, composed of a dedicated team of 50 professionals. Our mission is to provide high-quality, custom DNA assemblies up to 20kb in length as a service to our customers. We are committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and maintaining the highest standards of quality across our operations. We are looking for an experienced and process-oriented Senior Quality Manager to join our team. This role will be pivotal in implementing an ISO 9001 quality system tailored to our needs, developing and training personnel to adhere to industry-accepted standards for quality, and eventually with the potential to transition to GMP manufacturing. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for establishing robust documentation practices, including document and change control. Tasks- Lead the implementation of an ISO 9001 quality management system (QMS) across the organization.
- Develop, document, and maintain quality management policies and procedures.
- Train and mentor staff on quality standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage non-conformance investigations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee the development and validation of quality control methods and protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality is integrated into all aspects of the companys operations.
- Develop and manage quality metrics, reports, and dashboards to track performance and drive improvement.
- Lead the transition to GMP manufacturing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Institute supplier management procedures to ensure materials we purchase are consistent and at the required level of quality for our process.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Quality Management, Life Sciences).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a quality management role within the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a scientific role within the biotechnology or life sciences industry.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and implementation.
- Experience with GMP manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a process-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and mentor staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in developing and managing document control and change control systems.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma) is a plus.
