About the Role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead a large‑scale Food and Laundry Services division within a well‑established Queensland not‑for‑profit organisation. Reporting to the Director of Strategy, you will have full accountability for operations, people, commercial performance, compliance, and strategic direction across multiple sites. The division operates through a central production kitchen supplying food and laundry services across several aged care sites via a network of vendors and service partners.

What You'll Be Doing

Develop and execute a divisional strategic plan aligned with organisational goals
Lead a high‑performing team and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability
Drive operational excellence across cook‑chill systems, supply chain, and quality assurance
Serve as the organisation’s senior food safety subject matter expert
Manage vendor relationships, government tenders, and major commercial contracts
Partner with the technology team on new system implementations
Build and manage commercial partnerships with private sector organisations
Oversee divisional budget and financial planning

About You

You are a commercially minded leader with genuine passion for community‑focused work. You bring:

Significant senior leadership experience in large‑scale food service operations
Lead Food Auditor qualification and advanced food safety risk management knowledge
Demonstrated expertise in cook‑chill regeneration systems and production planning at scale
Proven commercial acumen – contracts, tenders, and executive‑level negotiation
Sound knowledge of HACCP to CODEX level and WHS legislation
Experience managing inventory, supply chain, and vendor performance
Strong business planning capability and financial management experience
A values‑driven approach and commitment to delivering quality outcomes for the communities you serve

Desirable: Qualifications in Food Preparation Management or Quality Assurance, and experience in aged care or community services.

The Package

Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience)
Superannuation paid in addition
Salary packaging up to $18,400 per annum (not‑for‑profit tax concession)
$7,000 travel allowance included within salary packaging
Based in Chermside with travel to operational kitchen site
