He angitutanga | About the role
Reporting to the Team Lead of Core Skills Delivery, as the Senior Trainer youll be motivated to set the standard for and build the capability of our people through the delivery of our annual learning and development programmes using face-to-face and online training delivery. Some of our core national programmes on the go include field skills delivery, Manager Development, National Induction and an array of workshops and webinars.
Youll bring credibility and confidence to partner with key stakeholders, including Directors, Managers, subject matter experts and colleagues from the wider OD unit, to effectively support the design, implementation and roll-out of national and bespoke training initiatives, whilst also working with individuals across our organisation to develop and build on their facilitation capability and readiness to deliver training.
A curious and analytical approach to learning design and evaluation is key. Youll be accountable for leading continuous review of programmes and interventions through insights gathering and reporting, to ensure training and facilitation is fit-for-purpose, engaging and impactful, and that opportunities for continuous improvement and enhancement can be realised. Above all, we are calling for a conscious collaborator who enjoys working as part of a team and who is willing to share knowledge and support coaching and development across the wider team of trainers.
This role involves travel, so you must be flexible to travel and work away from home as needed.

Well be looking for evidence against the following lead requirements within your application:
- Qualification in adult education and/or demonstrable experience in the delivery of best practice training, facilitation and coaching to diverse groups,
- Experience in facilitating management development programmes,
- Best practice knowledge and experience in training design,
- Capability and confidence in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to quickly build rapport and establish enduring relationships at all levels,
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills,
- Ability to coach and mentor others to development their facilitation skills,
- Proficiency in using technology and systems to delivery online training; and
- Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively review, evaluate, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of training design.
- Comfortable engaging and working in partnership with iwi and Tangata whenua
- Current full drivers licence
- A passion for Te Papa Atawhais Kaupapa is essential as well as understanding of Maori Tikanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The salary range for this position is $92,450 - $116,985 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
