About the Team/Service/ Location

Stanford House is a specialist inpatient service providing care and support for adults experiencing significant disruptions to their mental health within a forensic context. Our focus is on recovery, and were proud to work in partnership with the people we support, their whānau, and wider networks to achieve meaningful outcomes. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, grounded in the values of the Lets Get Real framework. We recognise that every individuals journey is unique, and we strive to create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment that supports people to build the skills and confidence needed for their next steps in recovery.

About you

To apply for this position, you must be a registered clinical psychologist who has completed a post graduate diploma in clinical psychology (or equivalent) and a masters or doctoral level degree in psychology and have a current practising certificate (New Zealand), a current full drivers license and the ability to participate in the management of aggression.

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes and skills:

  • The ability to establish sound, trusting, therapeutic relationships with people

  • A sound level of computer literacy

  • The desire to actively engage in professional development and ongoing training

  • A Police Clearance

  • A current New Zealand drivers licence

  • Be able to demonstrate registration with the New Zealand Psychology Board
