Seasonal Customer Service Representative

Job Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Seasonal Customer Service Staff Member to join our pool store team. This individual will provide excellent customer service, assist with administrative tasks, test pool chemicals, stock shelves, and perform various tasks related to pool product inventory. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a basic understanding of pool chemicals and maintenance, and a willingness to learn and assist in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
• Greet and assist customers with pool-related products, chemicals, and equipment.
• Answer customer inquiries about pool maintenance, chemical treatments, and store products.
• Process customer orders and sales transactions accurately.
• Provide product recommendations based on customer needs and pool requirements.
• Maintain a friendly, approachable, and helpful demeanor to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Chemical Testing & Guidance:
• Test pool water samples for chemical levels (chlorine, pH, alkalinity, etc.) and advise customers on proper chemical treatments.
• Educate customers on safe and effective use of pool chemicals.
• Prepare and package chemicals for customers as needed.
• Inventory & Stocking:
• Stock shelves with pool products, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
• Assist in restocking inventory as needed and monitor stock levels of pool supplies, chemicals, and accessories.
• Prepare and fill chlorine containers, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed.
• Keep inventory records and assist with product ordering or reordering when necessary.

• Administrative Support:
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and organizing customer orders.
• Help maintain and organize the store to ensure a neat, clean, and inviting environment.
• General Store Maintenance:
• Help with maintaining a clean and organized store, including the stores display areas and workstations.
• Assist with unloading shipments and setting up products in the store.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience, preferably in a retail or pool store setting.
• Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and chemicals is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain products and services clearly.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Must be reliable and punctual.

Work Environment:

• Indoor retail environment with occasional outdoor work when testing chemicals or assisting customers.
• May involve weekend depending on store hours.

Job Type: SeasonalContract length: 7 months

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
